Event
Penn students, staff and faculty are invited to join us for a virtual conversation with Blanka Zizka, Artistic Director of the Wilma Theater. Ms. Zizka will share with us insight from her decades in theatre in discussion with Dr. Marcia Ferguson from the Theatre Arts Program, followed by an open Q&A.
We will be holding this talk in a Zoom Meeting on:
Monday, April 6th
at 3PM
Blanka Zizka will discuss a broad range of topics, including the origins of Hothouse, the European-style acting technique currently in use with her award-winning company; her early influences; her experiences making covert theatre under the oppression of Soviet occupation in her home country, Czechoslovakia; and how her groundbreaking theatre art helped pave the way towards Philadelphia’s current vital theatrical culture, among other things. We hope you can join us live!
Please RSVP by Sunday, April 5th to receive the web link for the talk on Monday: www.tinyurl.com/zizkaatpenn. The talk will start at 3PM. Guests are asked to keep their microphone muted and video off except when participating in Q&A.
