The 2015/2016 Cabanne C. Smith Undergraduate Research Award

The winner of the 2015/2016 Cabanne Smith Award for Excellence in an Honors Thesis was honored at the Theatre Arts annual graduation reception. Jingyi Kang was presented the award for her Senior Honors Thesis project titled "Reclaiming Language and Body:  Performing English Theatre as a Non-Native Speaker." This project included research through  performance roles in two Theatre Arts mainstage productions: Bury the Dead, directed by Dr. James F. Schlatter  in the fall 2015 semester, and The Eumenides, directed by Dr. Marcia Ferguson in the spring 2016 semester.  Jingyi (Connie) was presented the award certificate by Dr. Schlatter. With this award comes a $1,000 prize. 

An Honorable Mention certificate was presented to Grayce Hoffman for her Senior Honors Thesis project related to her role on the Spring 2016 production of The Eumenides. Dr. Marcia Ferguson served as the advisor for this project.
