Cat Johnson has worked as Scenic Designer and Technical Director across the country. Some of her favorites include the Rocky Mountain Repertory Theatre in Grand Lake, Colorado, Howmet Playhouse in Whitehall, Michigan, Broadway Bound in Seattle, Washington, and Azuka Theatre here in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Hairspray at the Muskegon Civic Theatre, Life Between dance production at the Mütter Museum with Jae Hoon Lim, Fallen Angels at the Commonwealth Theatre Company and The Heidi Chronicles for the Theatre Arts Program at the University of Pennsylvania are among her most memorable scenic design projects. She has worked in various production and technical theatre roles for the Seattle Repertory Theatre, The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati and the Upper Darby Summer Stage.
She has taught scenic, production and technical theatre courses at Northern Kentucky University, Temple University and the University of Pennsylvania. She continues to mentor young adults through the American Youth Foundation’s National Leadership Conference. Cat Johnson also maintains her own practice of fine arts, illustration and writing.
Cat Johnson earned her MFA in Theatre Design from Temple University and her BA in Design and Technical Theatre from Washington University in St. Louis.
