Rohaan Unvala

Visiting Lecturer in Theatre Arts

Rohaan Unvala is a deviser, actor-performer, director, and visual artist from Mumbai, India. He received an MFA in Devised Performance from The Pig Iron Theatre Company / The University of the Arts, and BAs in Theatre and Communication from Denison University. He has created several solo and ensemble-driven original theatrical (and digital) works with an emphasis on improvisation, physical and spatial composition, and bold performance choices. His interests in theatre and teaching exist in a range of realms including Improvisation, Mime, Clown, Gesture, Choreography, Composition, Movement, and Voice. He believes that finding a true connection to play, and tapping into one’s own sense of joy and impulse creates the most captivating art and performance, and is thrilled to explore creative possibilities through his teaching of Movement for the Actor at Penn.
